barretts esophagus?
I recently thought I would make a visit to my local hospital so I could donate to the medical profession in my area. They did a full battery of tests, MRI, CT, EGD, every acronym you can think of and some you can’t. Of course the last one they did which is probably the first one they should have done was the EGD. I am not sure if they normally do a biopsy or if they did one because they saw something they didn’t like.
I read the wiki version of what it is, but thought I would come here and ask.
What is it? Anything I should be looking at? Etc. etc. etc. They told me I will have to cut out the high acid foods. Not to sure if I can do that. I am a born again half Italian, half Mexican and half Hienz. I know they don’t add up but would said I was normal.
One last note, I had an MRI of the head and a colonoscopy, not sure which end they saw the brain on.
Hello Bill,
Do you have any type of symptoms? Do you have any unusual swallowing problems? Any discomforts in the chest or abdomen?
Yes, you should watch what you eat but only cut out food that personally affects/aggravates your throat/esophagus or stomach during or after eating.
You need to eat as much as you can tolerate with a good variety of protein and vitamins in your food intake.
You are what you eat and your body survives on what types of foods you have been eating the majority of your life.
When one becomes ill, you should not quickly change the foods your body is use to receiving…...do not shock your body any more than necessary as it is trying to heal….your body needs comfort food that it is use to that normally gave your body balanced survival nutrients.
And whenever possible, get as much protein in your diet as you can tolerate mainly from quality meat(beef, turkey, chicken, pork).
Stay well my friend.
Have a Sunny Day,
Hugs and Blessings,
Sara
